Nakashka Coffee Company Limited


The Moy Hall Estate Coffee Farm was established in 1992 by Courtney Paul Fletcher and his wife Paula Fletcher.

Over the years, the coffee husbandry has been perfected in accordance with high quality standards. By virtue of the knowledge and expertise gained in coffee cultivation, combined with the environmental conditions, the cherry coffee produced is exceptional.

The farm is located on the eastern side of Jamaica in the hills of. St. Thomas approximately 4,300 ft above sea level. The climate, altitude and richness of the soil provides the coffee with the optimal conditions to thrive and produce premium Blue Mountain Coffee.

The coffee orchard is sun kissed by day with a natural shade from a low hanging cloud cover and an almost permanent mist. These ideal ecological factors/conditions allow for the slow maturation of the coffee berries which locks in their potent flavour. As the coffee berries ripen to a cherry red hue they are expertly harvested, selected for best quality and washed in spring water. The berries are then pulped and placed in the sun on large barbeques for drying. The beans are hand raked periodically and dried to the required standard the optimal moisture content. They are then cured for 2- 5 months. After this they are sent for processing. During this stage the process involves: destoning, hulling, polishing and sorting / grading to produce green beans. Thereafter, the green beans are handpicked to select only those that are perfect for export. Green beans are also roasted to perfection and when brewed, produce a delicious, deep, rich flavour and distinctive aroma.

For the 21 years since its establishment the farm supplied numerous factories and exporters around the island with cherry coffee. However, in 2013 a BOLD step forward was taken to set up NAKASHKA COFFEE COMPANY LIMITED to add value to the existing business. This company has been licensed to deal in Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, and to use the requisite Trade Mark, by the Coffee Industry Board.

NAKASHKA COFFEE COMPANY LIMITED, in addition to the farm operation, now undertakes vertical integration by processing coffee to the green bean and roasted bean stages. Our roasted coffee is sold under the MOY HALL ESTATE COFFEE brand.
